Miss US Virgin Islands
The Miss United States Virgin Islands (Miss U.S. Virgin Islands) is a national beauty pageant that selects US Virgin Islands' ambassador of the islands. This pageant is unrelated to the Miss Virgin Islands which sending its winner to the Miss America national contest or Miss British Virgin Islands pageant.
==History==
Between 1961 and 1978, the National Committee of Virgin Islands celebrated Miss Virgin Islands contest, in which the grand winners competed at the Miss Universe and other beauty pageants. Beginning in 1979, the official name changed to Miss U.S. Virgin Islands.
